A Course About Californian Wines

Capstone California is a brand new course fully dedicated to Californian wines. Created by the California Wine Institute, the programme offers four levels of study, from novice to expert. Each course builds on the previous level. Topics covered include history, lore, geography, climate, soils, grapes, viticulture, vinification, ageing and maturation, wine laws, official classifications, producers, vintages and the business of wine. The Finnish Sommeliers Association Wine School is an official Capstone provider for levels 1, 2 & 3.

Students will take the courses online. The courses are comprised of theory and an exam. After each course, students will attend a wine tasting.
The Level 1 tasting includes 8 wines, Level 2 tasting includes 16 wines and the Level 3 tasting includes 20 wines.

This course is an amazing opportunity to learn more about California and its wines. You will learn all the classical appellations such as Napa Valley, Sonoma and less known areas such as Lodi and  the Santa Cruz Mountains.

The course is conducted in English.
