Master of Port Scandinavia

Master of Port Scandinavia -kilpailu järjestetään kahden vuoden välein.

The MASTER OF PORT competition celebrates a protected designation of origin, Port, produced in the Douro Demarcated Region, the oldest demarcated and regulated region in the world (1756), and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is organized by the Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e do Porto, I.P. (IVDP, IP).

The winner of the “Master of Port” award receives recognition from the entire sommelier profession and becomes a Port ambassador for Scandinavia. The winner is also given a silver Port cup with the inscription “Master of Port”, a “Master of Port” pin, and a selection of premium Port wines.

The finalists will also receive a selection of premium Ports.

The winner and the Master of Port Scandinavia 2025: Ketil Sauer from Denmark

The semifinal and the final were held on the 19th and the 20th of October 2025 in Hotel D’Angleterre in Copenhagen.

Competitors in the semifinal:

24.9. online masterclass at Ruusulankatu 18 from 16:00 until 18:00 (Helsinki time)
30.9. online multiple choice exam at Ruusulankatu 18 from 11:00 until 12:00 (60minutes)
14.-16.10. Quarter final in Porto, Portugal
